Morris Building and Loan was originally chartered as a state chartered savings and loan association in March 1917. In October 1980, a new charter was issued and Morris Federal Savings and Loan Association began operation as a federally chartered savings and loan association. On January 2, 1997, a new charter was again issued and Morris Building and Loan was again operating under a state charter, but this time as a state saving bank. On April 21, 2008, Morris Building and Loan merged with Harvard Savings Bank. During these changes we have always remained a mutual charter association and have been and will continue to be insured by the FDIC on our savings and certificate accounts.
