We have an interesting story as far as our history is concerned. The original Illinois National Bank (INB), with more than a century of service, was a casualty of the bank mergers and acquisitions in the late 1990’s. INB was acquired by a very large institution, and local decision making in the Springfield market was non-existent. Recognizing a void, a group of local investors and former Illinois National Bank employees set about forming the second generation of INB – and opened the doors for the second time on June 21, 1999.
INB is a locally-owned, privately held financial institution that operates 12 branches plus a remittance processing center in Central Illinois. A board of directors is elected each year by our group of local investors. The board works closely with the members of our senior management team in directing the activities of the bank. All shareholders, directors and members of the senior management team reside in central Illinois, keeping the decision-making process at the local level.
Illinois National Bank provides a full range of traditional banking services to individuals, businesses and government entities. We place special emphasis on the commercial and government sectors, and continually invest in new technologies so that we can provide the most efficient solutions for a reasonable cost. Our close proximity to the State Capitol is evidence of our commitment to serving commercial and government entities, while our branch network is evidence of our commitment to local consumers.
