Hometown National Bank was formerly known as LaSalle National Bank. Its legacy began in the late 19th Century, when the early stockholders of the Bank first met on December 16, 1880, at the old Harrison House Hotel located at the corner of First and Wright Streets in downtown La Salle . The total resources at time of organization were $100,000. Among the bank's original shareholders was a local druggist, William B. Hummer.

HIGHLIGHTS

* William B. Hummer served as president of the bank from 1901 until 1908. Mr. Hummer was also an organizer of the Spring Valley City Bank, Spring Valley, Illinois and was elected that bank's first president in 1905.
* Wayne Hummer Sr., (William's son) joined the bank in 1907 serving in various capacities until his death in 1980.
* In 1911 the bank relocated to its current location.
* In 1933 La Salle National Bank was among the country's first banks to reopen after the banking holiday.
* In 1955 William B. Hummer ( Wayne 's son) joined the Board of Directors and continues to serve as Chairman Emeritus.
* In 1990 La Salle National Bank opened its first branch on Venture Drive in Peru, Illinois, adjacent to Peru Mall.
* In 1997 La Salle National Bank underwent an ownership change that perpetuated it independence as a community bank.
* On July 2004 LaSalle National Bank broke ground for our new Main Bank located at 260 Bucklin St .
* In September 2005, LaSalle National bank announced their plan to expand into the Joliet area, at this time the decision was made to change their name from LaSalle National Bank to Hometown National Bank to coincide with the opening of their new home office in 2006.
* Spanning three centuries, La Salle National Bank has provided first-class community banking services to the citizens of the Illinois Valley . Continued dedication to the Illinois Valley area and Will County and beyond is a commitment from Hometown National Bank.
